COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains concluded, with BYU women's tennis securing multiple victories over the weekend. Four Cougars competed in the tournament hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy, with Maddy Smith finishing as a finalist in her draw.
"I love playing in the Bedford Cup to start off the year," said assistant coach Gabby Curtis. "We quickly see where players have improved during the summer and what areas need improvement this fall. I'm happy with the growth I saw this weekend and am excited for the momentum to continue for these players over the next few months."
In singles, Emmie Moore (0-1) participated in the alpha draw. Maddy Smith (3-0) competed in the bravo draw, while Bitsy Tullis (1-2) was in the Charlie draw, and Avery Pope (0-2) was in the delta draw. Moore and Smith (1-2) partnered for doubles play, as did Pope and Tullis (2-2).
