The sophomore from Zilina, Slovakia finished the day strong with back-to-back wins in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Marusakova clocked 54.75 in the 100 fly, coming in just ahead of the Horned Frogs’ Jeanne Dahmen. The 200 IM saw Marusakova slice five seconds off her previous personal best on the way to a 2:03.30 finish, good for No. 10 all-time at BYU.
Marusakova also helped BYU score points with a runner-up spot in the 200 medley relay and third-place finishes in the 100 back and 400 medley relay.
Tiffany received his second Big 12 award in three weeks after a 13-point, school-record-breaking performance in the Cougars’ dual meet at TCU.
The junior from Pleasant Grove, Utah clocked 45.86 to win the 100 fly by nearly two seconds over the Horned Frogs’ Piotr Sadlowski. At 45.86, Tiffany now holds the 100 fly school record, surpassing Javier Nicolas Matta’s 46.40 set in 2022. The time is also good for No. 2 nationally, behind only Ilya Kharun of top-ranked Arizona State.
Tiffany also contributed to relay wins for the Cougars in the 400 medley and free relays. The squad of Tiffany, Brad Prolo, Jacob Ballard and Luigi Riva won the 400 MR at 3:12.36. Tiffany, Joshua Reed, Diego Camacho Salgado and Riva then won the 400 FR at 2:57.37.
Following a weekend of collegiate meets, the men’s 400 medley and free relays rank ninth and 11th in the nation, respectively.
Tiffany, Marusakova and the Cougars are back in action as they face UNLV in a dual meet on Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. PDT.
