Cougs host Kansas State Wildcats Monday evening

No. 7 BYU women’s soccer returns to South Field to host Kansas State on Monday evening.

PROVO, Utah – No. 7 BYU women’s soccer (10-1-3, 3-0-3 Big 12) returns to South Field to host Kansas State on Monday evening.

Monday’s matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

IN THE RANKINGS. The Cougars are currently ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll.

THE COUGARS. BYU last competed against No. 7 Texas Tech on South Field, tying the Red Raiders, 2-2, Thursday evening. Senior captain Jamie Shepherd notched her first goal of the season, while sophomore forward Ellie Walbruch got her sixth goal of the year. Mozingo added two assists, while Olivia Smith-Griffitts added one. The Cougars outshot the Red Raiders 16-8, putting seven shots on frame.

THE WILDCATS. Kansas State (3-8-3, 1-4-1 Big 12) earned its first 2023 Big 12 win against Houston Thursday night, besting the Cougars 1-0. This game was coach Mike Dibbini’s 300th career win in his 16 total years of coaching. Jazmin Brown scored the lone goal in Thursday’s match, bringing her to a team-high three on the season.

COUGARS VS. WILDCATS. The Cougars and Wildcats have only competed once, with BYU leading the series, 1-0. The teams faced off in 2019 at Buser Family Park, with the Cougars blanking the Wildcats, 5-0.
