WACO, Texas – BYU's Kendall Kovick advanced to the singles final as the Cougars wrapped up their fall season at the Big 12 Championships.
"This tournament provided a solid opportunity for us to gauge the level of competition in the Big 12. It's a higher level, and we're eager to rise to the occasion," said head coach Holly Hasler. "We experienced both impressive wins and challenging losses. Often, it boils down to belief, something we're actively working on. With a talented, hard-working group of girls, everyone is fully committed to the fight and competition. We're continuously improving and learning from every opportunity. January can't come soon enough."
In singles, Kovick (3-0) reached the singles final of the white draw with victories over Kansas State, Kansas, and Cincinnati. She withdrew from the final scheduled on Sunday. Bobo Huang secured a victory over No. 120 Anna Supapitch of Iowa State. The team celebrated several Big 12 singles wins, including Kaavya Sawhney defeating the Cyclones, Avery Pope triumphing over Houston, Maddy Smith conquering Texas Tech and Houston, Kara Wheatley succeeding against Baylor and Kansas State, Bitsy Tullis overcoming Kansas State, and Tina Li winning against Houston.
In doubles, Wheatley and Li (2-1) advanced to the semifinals with wins over Iowa State and Baylor. Huang and Sawhney (2-1) also reached the semifinals with victories over Kansas State and Baylor. Smith and Tullis (2-1) secured wins over Texas Tech and Kansas State.

With the fall season concluded, BYU now shifts its focus to preparing for the first dual match season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The season is set to kick off in January, with a detailed schedule to be announced at a later date.
