PROVO, Utah — BYU swimming announced eight additions to the program as athletes from around the country signed with the Cougars on national signing day on Wednesday.

Brad Binns, Nathaniel Eliason and Scott McMillan each signed with BYU men’s swimming while the women will be joined by Jasmine Anderson, MJ Bezzant, Sarah Eliason, Haylee Tiffany and Lucy Warnick.

Brad Binns | Rockwall, Texas | Rockwall High School

  • Club: Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence
  • Competes in distance freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley
  • 35th-ranked high school prospect in Texas (SwimCloud)
  • Personal bests include 9:23.38 (1000 free), 1:01.61 (100 breast) and 4:02.11 (400 IM)

Nathaniel Eliason | Mechanicsville, Virginia | Hanover High School

  • Club: Hanover Aquatics Inc.
  • Competes in sprint freestyle
  • Cousin of fellow BYU signee Sarah Eliason
  • Posted third and fourth-place finishes in the 100 free (46.50) and 200 free (1:41.37), respectively, at the 2023 Virginia High School Class 4 State Championships on Feb. 18
  • Personal bests include 21.26 (50 free) and 46.50 (100 free)

Scott McMillan | Walnut Creek, California | Northgate High School

  • Club: Walnut Creek Aquabears
  • Competes in sprint freestyle
  • Won men’s 100 free title (53.32) and finished runner-up in the 50 free (24.12) at the Far Westerns Championship in Concord, California on July 27
  • Two-time finalist (50 and 100 free) at Speedo Sectionals in Kentfield, California on March 2
  • Personal bests include 20.99 (50 free) and 46.03 (100 free)
  • Plans to serve full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prior to enrolling at BYU
  • Mother, Heidi Lietz McMillan, swam for BYU (1999-2005) and set the BYU women’s 50 free school record at 23.17 in 2002 (still ranks ninth all-time)

  • Club: Chugiak Aquatics Club
  • Competes in breaststroke
  •  Top-ranked women’s swimming prospect in Alaska, top-300 recruit nationally in class of 2024 (SwimCloud)  
  •  Won Alaska State Region 3 Championship in 100 breast (1:03.74) and 200 IM (2:10.82) on Oct. 27
  •  Finished state runner-up in 200 IM (2:08.35) and 100 breast (1:03.00) on Nov. 3
  •  Personal beasts include 1:02.73 (100 breast) and 2:14.34 (200 breast)

MJ Bezzant | St. Louis, Missouri | Ladue Horton Watkins High School

  • Club: CSP Tideriders
  • Competes in breaststroke
  • 14th-ranked prospect in state of Missouri’s class of 2024 (SwimCloud)
  • Won 100 breast (1:03.96) at 2023 Missouri Girls Class 1 State Championship on Feb. 17, finished runner-up in 200 IM (2:06.32)
  • Personal bests include 1:03.96 (100 breast) and 2:20.04 (200 breast)

Sarah Eliason | Potomac, Maryland | Richard Montgomery High School

  • Club: Rockville Montgomery Swim Club
  • Competes in middle distance freestyle, sprint, butterfly and individual medley
  • Third-ranked recruit in state of Maryland’s class of 2024 (SwimCloud)
  • Finished eighth in the 100 free (58.38) at USA Swimming Future Championship in Richmond, Virginia on July 26
  • Runner-up finishes in 100 free and fly at Potomac Valley Senior Championships on July 13
  • Personal bests include 57.93 (100 free) and 53.72 (100 fly)

Haylee Tiffany | Pleasant Grove, Utah | Lone Peak High School

  • Club: Hilltop Aquatic Swim Team
  • Competes in sprint and middle-distance freestyle and 100 fly
  • Top-ranked recruit in state of Utah’s class of 2024 (SwimCloud)
  • 2023 Utah 6A girl’s champion in 100 free (52.01) and 200 free (1:53.74)
  • Personal bests include 51.73 (100 free) and 1:52.12 (200 free)
  • Brother, Jordan, currently competes for BYU men’s swimming
  • Mother, Celeste (Belliston) Tiffany swam at BYU (1992-96), earning All-WAC honors and, for a time, holding the BYU and WAC 800 free relay record
  • Father, Stephen, swam at BYU (1993-94, 1996-98)

  • Posted top-5 finishes in the 400 IM, 100 and 200 breast at the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Sacramento, California on July 26
