PROVO, Utah — No. 6 BYU women’s soccer will host No. 22 USC in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday evening.

The Cougars earned a No. 1 seed, while USC earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Thursday’s matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT. As a host site for the tournament, BYU will also host Harvard and Michigan State at 4 p.m. MT in their second round matchup. The winner of both games will face-off on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. MT.

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

THE COUGARS. BYU last competed against Utah State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 10, blanking the Aggies 2-0. Goals by defender Kendell Petersen and midfielder Wade-Katoa secured the win for the Cougars, advancing them to round two of the tournament.

THE TROJANS. USC last competed against Grand Canyon in the first round of the tournament, besting the Lopes 1-0. USC’s lone goal came from a successful penalty kick in the 66th minute by Helena Sampio.

COUGARS VS. TROJANS. The Cougars and the Trojans have competed nine times previously, with the Trojans leading the overall series, 4-3-3. The two teams last faced off in August of 2021, when BYU defeated USC 2-1 on South Field.
