PROVO, Utah — BYU women's track and field released its 2023-24 indoor season schedule as the distance squad prepares to travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Saturday.
BYU women's track and field will compete twice in December before the new year: Dec. 2 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener and Dec. 8-9 at home for the BYU December Invitational. The Cougars will travel their distance squad to the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener as they hope to build on cross country fitness and record fast easly-season times.
Following the winter break, the Cougars will host the BYU Indoor Invitational Jan. 11-13 in the Smith Fieldhouse. Two weeks later, the distance squad will return to Boston for the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the sprints, jumps and throws will compete in Clemson, South Carolina for the Bob Pollock Invitational.
Feb. 9-10 the teams will split again for distance to compete at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington as the sprints, jumps and throws compete at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque. The following week, BYU will assemble a distance medley relay team to return to Boston and compete at the Terrier DMR Challenge.
The Cougars will vie for their first-ever Big 12 Conference track and field championship Feb. 23-24 in Lubbock, Texas at the event hosted by Texas Tech.
Two weeks later, 2024 NCAA championships will be hosted in Boston March 8-9. In order to qualify for the championships, an athlete or relay team must be ranked in the top 16 in the country in their event.
