Cougars ranked No. 31 in WCGA Preseason Poll

The BYU women’s gymnastics team heads into the 2024 season ranked No. 31 nationally as voted on by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association, the organization announced Friday.

Marlboro, NJ – The BYU women’s gymnastics team heads into the 2024 season ranked No. 31 nationally as voted on by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association, the organization announced Friday.

With 36 first place votes, the University of Oklahoma is the top gymnastics team heading into the 2024 season, followed by Florida and LSU. All but two BYU opponents have been ranked amongst the top 36 teams, with the other two receiving votes. BYU’s new Big 12 conference foes include No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 10 Denver, No. 34 West Virginia and Iowa State (received votes). 

The Cougars begin the 2024 season with their second trip to the Super 16 Las Vegas meet on Saturday, Jan. 6. The following week will include two meets in the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah as the Cougars compete in an ESPN Invite on Saturday, Jan. 13 and the fifth annual Rio Tinto Best of Utah gymnastics Meet on Monday, Jan. 15.
