Bower, Livingston named VolleyballMag All-America Honorable Mentions

PROVO, Utah — BYU women's volleyball’s Whitney Bower and Erin Livingston were named Honorable Mention All-Americans by VolleyballMag.com, the publication announced on Friday afternoon.

Also named AVCA All-America Honorable Mentions, Bower and Livingston paced the Cougars to a No. 18 final AVCA ranking as they went 25-7 overall, making their 12th-consecutive appearance in the the NCAA Tournament. The duo received AVCA Southwest All-Region and All-Big 12 First Team honors as well.

Bower earned seven All-America citations in her five-year career at BYU. The senior setter tallied 980 total assists this past season, becoming the Cougars’ rally scoring era assist leader with 4,583. Bower posted 139 kills on a .355 hitting percentage to go along with 245 digs and 70 total blocks. She also finished with a team-high 34 service aces and seven double-doubles.

Livingston led BYU with 456 kills for a 4.3 kill per set average, which ranked No. 21 nationally. She carded double-digit kills in 28 of 32 matches, including the final 13 matches. The senior outside hitter also had 142 digs, 48 total blocks and 28 service aces and was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week three times. This is the fourth All-America citation of her career.
