PROVO, Utah — BYU Athletics hosted its second annual Food & Faith Barbecue in the Student Athlete Building on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

This event was created as an opportunity for the religiously diverse student-athletes at BYU to meet each other and also meet the university chaplain, Jim Slaughter. Slaughter's responsibilities include working with students of other faiths, and has been serving as a chaplain for the past 10 years. Whitney Johnson Catt, the associate athletic director for student-athlete development, diversity and inclusion at BYU, hosted the event.

In 2023, BYU has over 100 religiously diverse student-athletes that currently attend the university.
