PROVO, Utah — BYU women’s gymnastics heads to Ames, Iowa to take on the Cyclones in its first-ever Big 12 matchup on Friday evening.

THE COUGARS. No. 26 BYU last competed in the fifth annual Rio Tinto Best of Utah gymnastics meet on Monday, Jan. 15. The Cougs took home a second-place finish with a final score of 195.775. Freshman Brynlee Anderson scored a new career high and team high 9.900 on beam at the meet. Anna Bramblett earned BYU’s MVP award for the evening after scoring a 9.875 on the uneven bars.

THE CYCLONES. No. 28 Iowa State last competed against Penn State, falling 196.625-196.150. The Cyclones were strong on vault, with every gymnast scoring above a 9.825 on the apparatus, led by a 9.900 by Noelle Adams. Kaia Parker scored a team-high 9.875 on floor to tie her career high.
