BYU men’s swimming may not have competed since the Mizzou Invitational Nov. 14-17 but the Cougars continue to have four swimmers and each of the five men’s relay squads ranked with top-50 times nationally.

Jordan Tiffany ranks sixth in the 100 fly at 44.85, 0.13 seconds ahead of Cal’s Dare Rose and two-hundredths of a second behind Gal Cohen Groumi of Michigan. Tiffany also ranks 10th in the 100 back with a relay leadoff time of 45.24. The junior from Pleasant Grove, Utah is currently the only men’s swimmer in the nation with top-10 times in both the 100 fly and 100 back.

Olympic Trials qualifier Brad Prolo holds 10th nationally in the 200 fly at 1:41.80. Prolo ranks 0.14 seconds faster than Indiana’s Tomer Frankel and just two-hundredths of a second behind Martin Espernberger of Tennessee.

BYU, No. 1 Arizona State and No. 3 Cal are the only teams nationally with a top-10 swimmer in each of the 100 fly, 100 back and 200 fly events.

Each of the Cougars’ five men’s relay squads rank in the top-30. The 200 medley relay squad of Tiffany, Prolo, Tanner Edwards and Luigi Riva is tied for 15th with Auburn, 0.12 seconds ahead of Notre Dame and just four-hundredths of a second behind Georgia.
