PROVO, Utah — The BYU women's tennis team will hold its annual Blue vs. White scrimmage at 9 a.m. MDT Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Indoor Tennis Courts.
The Cougars are gearing up for a successful season as they enter their first year in the Big 12 Conference. BYU has started the 2024 season 3-0 with victories over Arizona, Missouri, and Michigan State.
Sophomore Tina Li is off to a strong start, going 3-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles. Junior Bobo Huang, recently named Big 12 Player of the Week, has begun the year 2-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
Senior Kara Wheatley has a 2-0 record in both singles and doubles. West Virginia transfer Kendall Kovick earned her first two singles wins as a Cougar in Arizona, starting 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles. UNC Charlotte transfer Kaavya Sawhney notched her first three doubles wins with BYU and is 3-0 in doubles to begin the year.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public with open seating. The Cougars will continue their regular season at Utah State at 11 a.m. MST Friday, Feb. 2.
