BYU sits 22nd in AP Poll

BYU dropped one spot to No. 22 in the latest AP Top 25 after splitting games against No. 4 Houston and Texas last week at the Marriott Center.

PROVO, Utah — BYU dropped one spot to No. 22 in the latest AP Top 25 after splitting games against No. 4 Houston and Texas last week at the Marriott Center.

The Cougars, who have never been ranked 22nd in program history, are 15-5 overall and 3-4 in Big 12 play following its 84-72 win over the Longhorns on Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd. BYU shot a season-high 64.0 percent from the floor with Noah Waterman and Jaxson Robinson scoring 17 points apiece. Fousseyni Traore adding 16 points and six rebounds off the bench as BYU improved to 3-0 all-time against Texas in Provo.

BYU is one of eight schools from the Big 12 represented in the Top 25, joining No. 4 Houston, No. 8 Kansas, No. 12 Iowa State, No. 18 Baylor, No. 23 Oklahoma and No. 25 TCU. UConn remained atop the rankings for a third straight week followed by Purdue and North Carolina.
