PROVO, Utah — The BYU women’s gymnastics team prepares for back-to-back meets against former conference foe, Southern Utah, first hosting the Thunderbirds in the Marriott Center Friday evening for a Taylor Swift Eras themed competition. The Cougars will then travel to Cedar City to compete against SUU on Monday evening.

THE COUGARS. No. 27 BYU last competed against No. 11 Denver on Friday, Feb. 23 in the Marriott Center. The Cougars tallied their second-highest overall score of the season with a 196.500, narrowly losing to the Pioneers who scored a 196.900. Anderson earned BYU’s first 10.000 from a judge this season on the beam, with a 9.900 from the second judge for her new career high of 9.950.
THE THUNDERBIRDS. No. 36 SUU last competed against No. 32 Iowa State on Monday, Feb. 26 in Cedar City. The Flippin’ Birds came out on top, beating the Cyclones 196.500-195.700. Southern Utah Freshman Niya Randolph led the Thunderbirds with an all-around score of 39.200. She also earned the highest floor score of the meet with a 9.925.
