PROVO, Utah — The BYU gymnastics team heads to Norman, Oklahoma for a Friday evening quad meet with No. 1 Oklahoma, Utah State and Texas Woman’s University.

THE COUGARS. No. 27 BYU last competed against West Virginia in the 2024 home-opener Friday evening in front of 3,386 fans at the Marriott Center. The Cougars earned new season-high balance beam (49.100) and floor (49.325) scores to contribute to their new season-high score of 196.475, besting the Mountaineers’ 193.500.

THE SOONERS. No. 1 Oklahoma started its 2024 campaign with a perfect 12-0 record, including two conference wins against Denver. The Sooners last competed against Arizona State and Cal, tying a program record with a 49.825 on the uneven bars. Jordan Bowers secured the first perfect 10 of the year for OU as Oklahoma posted a season-high 198.375 in the win.

THE AGGIES. No. 47 Utah State last competed against SUU at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah on Friday, Feb. 2. Despite posting a new season-high, the Aggies fell to the Thunderbirds 196.275-196.800. The girls posted season-highs of 49.125 on bars, 49.025 on beam and 49.175 on floor. Lexi Aragon anchored the beam rotation and earned a career-high 9.925.

THE PIONEERS. Texas Woman’s began its season with a 3-3 record. The Pioneers last competed against No. 9 Missouri at the Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 3. Despite setting a program high 49.375 on floor, TWU fell to Missouir 197.025-195.475. Five gymnasts scored a 9.825 or higher, with two scoring career-high 9.950s.
