Women's Recap

Gardner clocked 23.57 to set a new personal best and move up from No. 10 to No. 2 all-time at BYU indoors. The senior from Enterprise, Utah Gardner owns the school record in the 60m and 100m at 7.27 and 11.35, respectively. Her new personal-best time is nearly 0.7 seconds faster than her previous 200m time of 24.23 at the 2021 BYU Indoor Cougar Invitational.

"I focused on my cues and the race model," said Gardner. "I just felt more patient, relaxed, and smooth."

Hart, a senior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, crossed the finish line in 24.16 seconds to finish fourth overall in the women's unseeded 200m race. Hart's performance ranks No. 9 all-time on the BYU women's indoor top-10 board. Her previous career-best outing came during last season's Jarvis Scott Open at Texas Tech, where she clocked a 24.38.

Sami Oblad ran in the meet specific 600m, finishing at 1:26.89 to become No. 6 all-time in the NCAA and the first collegian to cross the line at the invitational.

"It was an incredible day today for the women. We came in ready to run some PR’s and they delivered. In the 200m we had a near perfect day, hitting six out of seven PR’s. It was highlighted by a No. 9 all-time performance by Annalise, and Jaslyn had a breakthrough run to end up No. 2 all time. It’s a great day to be a Cougar."

"The men had a great day on the track as well. I had the goal of the guys setting some PR’s and they stepped up. In the 200 we had some big breakthroughs with three out of four guys running PR’s, including Abram breaking into the all-time top 10 after tying the No. 9 mark."
