PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s gymnastics heads to Norman, Oklahoma for its first-ever Big 12 Championship at the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday evening to take on No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 8 Denver, Iowa State and West Virginia.

COUGARS. No. 33 BYU women’s gymnastics last competed at Washington in a quad meet against Washington, Sacramento State and Southern Utah Friday, Mar. 15 at Alaska Airlines Arena. With their second-highest score of the season and a new season-high floor score, the Cougars earned a second-place finish, scoring a 196.750. The Cougs scored a 49.475 on floor, their highest score on any apparatus this season. BYU also tied its season-high vault score with a 49.225.

SOONERS. No. 1 Oklahoma last competed against Alabama on Sunday, Mar. 17 for a senior day matinee celebration. The Sooners shattered their program team record with a 198.775 inside the Lloyd Noble Center. Oklahoma now holds the third-highest score in NCAA history, tied with Florida who earned a 198.775 in 2022. The win marked the 500th win at Oklahoma for head coach K.J. Kindler.

CYCLONES. No. 36 Iowa State last competed in a quad meet at Florida on Friday, Mar. 15, placing third with a total score of 195.825. The Cyclones set a new season high on any event with a 49.400 on the floor exercise. Ella Schell scored a team season high 9.950 on the event. 

PIONEERS. No. 8 Denver recorded a 197.750 in its regular-season finale at No. 10 Michigan on Friday, Mar. 15. This score was Denver’s second-highest road score in program history. The Pioneers tied the third- and sixth-highest floor (49.550) and beam (49.475) road scores, respectively, in program history. DU had 10 scores above a 9.900 in the competition, which is tied for the fourth-most at an away meet in program history.

MOUNTAINEERS. No. 51 West Virginia capped its regular season with a new season-high score of 196.000 in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon. The Mountaineers earned a second-place finish in the quad meet against No. 16 Minnesota, Air Force and Northern Illinois. The Mountaineers’ final score marked their first 196.0+ score of the season, as they posted season-high totals on the uneven bars (49.100) and floor (49.275).
