Hall earns CSC Academic All-District honors

Sophomore Dallin Hall has been named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Team for the first time.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – BYU sophomore guard Dallin Hall has been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men’s Basketball Academic All-District Team.

The 2024 Academic All-District® basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Wednesday, April 17.

Hall appeared in all 34 games, including 30 starts, for a BYU team that went 23-11 and finished fifth in its first year in the Big 12 en route to earning a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Plain City, Utah native led the team in assists for the second straight season with 172, which is the seventh-most in a single season in program history.

He also had the third-highest assist-to-turnover ratio in program history, averaging 9.0 points per game, shooting 42.2 percent from the floor, 35.9 percent from three and 63.2 percent from the free throw line.

A pre-business major, Hall earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades after ranking fourth in assists in conference play. He had a career-high 12 assists in BYU’s win over West Virginia in its first trip to Morgantown since 1947. His performance against the Mountaineers made him one of 15 players in NCAA DI men’s basketball with a 12:1 assist-to-turnover ratio this season.

Hall also scored in double figures nine times in Big 12 play including a season-high 18 in BYU’s win over No. 7 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. He went 2-of-2 from beyond the arc in the second half including connecting on a 3-pointer with 1:33 remaining to push the Cougars lead to five points.
