AUSTIN, Texas — Senior Cierra Tidwell Allphin placed second in the women's high jump clearing 1.83-meters/6-0 Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
"The conditions and competition were ideal for Cierra today," said jumps and multis coach Tiffany Hogan. "She put together another meet with a six foot clearance and was incredibly close to clearing the next height. I am very pleased with how she competed today."
Tidwell Allphin's clearace marks the 13th competition of her collegiate career in which she has cleared at least six feet. She currently ranks No. 2 on BYU's all-time outdoor record board with her 1.88m/6-2 clearance at the 2023 Mt. Sac Relays.
The men's 4x200m relay team of Logan Hubler, Trey Jackson, Josh Taylor and Eli Hazlett won their heat in a time of 1:23.70. This marked the fastest 4x200 time globally in 2024 prior to Houston's 1:21.55 in the next heat. BYU finished fifth overall in the 4x200. The women's 4x200m relay team of Lainey Jones, Dolita Shaw, Sami Oblad and Emily Ellis-Dalley also placed fifth in the event, running 1:34.72.
Dallin Draper finished seventh overall in the men's 100m final, running 10.33 just after he teamed up with Hubler, Riley Hunt and Abram Schaap to place eighth in the 4x100m relay, running 39.86.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Oblad, Annalise Hart, Jones and Ellis-Dalley clocked 3:37.55 to place sixth overall as the men's team of Hazlett, Jackson, Schaap and Taylor ran 3:07.73 to place seventh.
