The junior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado crossed the finish with a new personal best time, surpassing her previous No. 7 program time of 58.24 that she achieved just one week prior at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Hart only started competing in the event this season as Saturday's race at Mt. SAC marked her fourth outing for the distance.
Hart also competed in the women's 4x400m relay with teammates Sami Oblad, Emily Ellis-Daley and Lainey Jones. The team finished third in the fastest heat of the night with a time of 3:35.29.
"I felt good about today," said Hart. "There's still progress to be made. My goal going into it was to run under the 58-second mark. I'm excited about making more progress."
Other relays included the men's and women's 4x100m teams that finished sixth and 13th, respectively. The men's 4x400m relay finished fifth at 3:05.29.
