Four Cougars added to the 2024 MPSF All-Academic Team

Four members of the BYU men's volleyball team were named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Volleyball All-Academic Scholar-Athletes, the conference announced Friday.

PROVO, Utah — Four members of the BYU men's volleyball team were named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Volleyball All-Academic Scholar-Athletes, the conference announced Friday.

Senior Kupono Browne, junior Teon Taylor, sophomore Jackson Fife and sophomore Bernardo Adam were honored for the 2024 men's volleyball season.

In order to qualify for the conference's all-academic team, the student-athlete must carry a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received and competed in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition.

Senior opposite Browne graduated from BYU with a 3.39 GPA in psychology. Middle blocker Taylor completed his fourth academic year at BYU with a 3.42 GPA in biology. Sophomore libero Fife finished with a 3.76 GPA this season in biology. Sophomore libero Adam finished the 2024 academic year with a 3.54 GPA in pre-business.

Browne totaled 229 kills and 47 blocks, leading the Cougars in service aces this season with 38 through 23 matches played. Taylor started in 24 of BYU's 25 matches in 2024, accumulating 112 kills on a team-high .490 hitting percentage, with 73 blocks. Fife totaled 111 digs and 27 assists through 20 matches played for the Cougars. Adam finished with 56 digs through 51 sets played and 14 matches started.
