TEMPE, Ariz. — BYU swimmer Jordan Tiffany qualified for the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials during competition over the weekend at the Sun Devil Open at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
Tiffany clocked 53.39 in the 100 fly (long course meters), exceeding the U.S. Olympic Team Trial standard of 53.59 and officially punching his ticket to the trials held June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"This is a lifelong dream coming true," Tiffany said. "I'm so grateful that I've had incredible people by my side to help me get to this point and I'm so excited that the journey is far from over."
The Pleasant Grove, Utah native adds an Olympic Trials spot to an already accomplished season that includes an Honorable Mention All-America finish, three entries at NCAA Championships, a Big 12 100 fly championship and five broken BYU school records.
Tiffany now joins Brad Prolo as the second BYU men’s swimmer to reach the 2024 Trials. Prolo qualified in the 200 fly with a 2:00.43 at the Toyota U.S. Open in Greensboro, North Carolina on Dec. 2.
Prolo will compete in the 200 fly trial heats on June 18 with the opportunity to advance to the 200 fly final on June 19. Tiffany will make his trials debut in the 100 fly heats on June 21, with the chance of advancing to the final on June 22.
Trial qualifying heats will stream live on Peacock with delayed coverage daily on USA Network. Each final will air live on NBC and Peacock at 8 p.m. EDT.
