Gillispie began her journey at Baylor where she appeared in 27 games, starting one, in two seasons with the Bears. During her 2021-22 freshman campaign, she played in 15 games, and averaged 6.5 minutes while scoring 2.0 points per game, grabbing 1.4 rebounds and totaling three assists, a block and a steal. In 2022-23, the sophomore bumped her playing time to 13 minutes per game while averaging 4.0 points on 41.7 percent shooting, tallying 3.3 boards and recording four assists and two steals.
After two years at Baylor, Gillispie took her talents to Arkansas State where she played in all 30 games, starting seven for the Red Wolves during the 2023-24 season. The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native was the third-leading rebounder for Arkansas State at 5.1 boards per game while scoring 3.5 points on 37.4 percent shooting from the field. In 30 games, Gillispie also recorded 18 steals, nine blocks and nine assists.
The newest addition to the BYU roster was the 58th-ranked player and the No. 10-ranked forward on the ESPNW HoopGurlz Top 100 for the class of 2021 before committing to play for first-year Baylor head coach Nicki Collen. She played two years of high school basketball at Norman High School where she won the Oklahoma 6A State Championship and was named the 6A MVP and First Team All-State.
After transferring to Harding Charter Prep to play for her mother Latesha Woods, she earned 4A First Team All-State honors in 2020 and 2021 while averaging 26.8 points per game during her senior season. She was also a track and field star at Norman High School, winning the 6A State Championship in the shot put in 2018.
Gillispie is the daughter of the late Devin Gillispie (father), Justin Woods (stepfather) and her mother Latesha Woods who played college basketball for Langston University from 2006-10. She is majoring in child development and family studies and aspires to be a Division I women’s basketball coach when her playing career is over.
