COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — BYU women’s volleyball outside hitter Claire Little has been named to the 2024 U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team (CNT), the organization has announced.
The CNT features 19 of the country's top collegiate women's volleyball players who will train alongside the U.S. Women's National Team in Anaheim, California from June 30-July 6. The team will be coached by former BYU men's volleyball head coach Chris McGown.
Little played in 17 of the Cougars’ matches last season, starting in five of them. The Winchester, California native finished the 2023 campaign with 75 kills, averaging 1.44 per set, with three double-digit kill performances. She recorded 19 total blocks, including two solo, and 50 digs.
She becomes the fifth BYU women’s volleyball student-athlete to compete on the U.S. Women’s CNT. Cougar alumni Erin Livingston, Heather Gneiting and Jen Hamson each did so previously, as did current opposite hitter/middle blocker Kate Prior.
Little will join BYU head coach Heather Olmstead in representing the Cougars in the national ranks this summer. Olmstead will lead the U.S. Women’s U21 National Team in the NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship June 23-July 1.
