Cougars add transfer Miranda Mansfield

BYU softball head coach Gordon Eakin has announced the signing of transfer Miranda Mansfield.

PROVO, Utah — BYU softball head coach Gordon Eakin announced the signing of transfer Miranda Mansfield on Friday.

A 5-foot-5 utility player from Syracuse, Utah, Mansfield is a Clearfield High School graduate and has spent the last two years at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), earning NJCAA All-America Third Team honors this past season.

She started in all 56 of the Bruins’ games in 2024, posting a .463 batting average with a .716 slugging percentage and .528 on-base percentage, also going 31-for-38 on stolen bases and leading the team in at-bats, runs, hits, doubles and triples.

In two seasons at SLCC, Mansfield played in 96 games, starting 81 of them. She tallied 122 total hits, 118 runs, 88 RBI, 34 walks, 29 doubles, eight triples and five home runs. Mansfield, spending majority of her time at shortstop in Salt Lake, recorded a .923 fielding percentage.

Mansfield joins Danica Acosta, Ilove’a Brittingham, Amiya Hernandez, Ariyah Morgan, Breana Townsend and Jada Villegas as the seventh member of the Cougars’ 2024 recruiting class.
