Benson selected for 2024 U.S. Men's Collegiate National Team

BYU men's volleyball outside hitter Luke Benson has been selected for the 2024 Men’s Collegiate National Team and will train with the team from June 23-29 in Anaheim, California at the national team training center.

PROVO, Utah — BYU men's volleyball outside hitter Luke Benson has been selected for the 2024 U.S. Men’s Collegiate National Team and will train with the team from June 23-29 in Anaheim, California at the national team training center.

Benson is one of five outside hitters to be selected to the team, with 20 players on the roster overall.

Benson led the Cougars during the 2024 season with 297 kills on a .344 hitting percentage. He also totaled 88 digs, 19 aces and 37 blocks. In conference play, Benson led all players in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with 155 kills, averaging 3.37 kills per set in 12 conference matches. Benson was named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week twice during the 2024 season: January 8 and March 25. He was named to the 2024 All-MPSF First Team and received a 2024 AVCA Honorable Mention All-America nod.
