LUBBOCK, Tex. — BYU softball alum Chloe Temples signed with the Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league’s Hub City Adelitas, the team announced on Sunday.
One of two professional softball leagues in the U.S., the WPF was founded by USA Softball, the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) and Smash It Sports. It is the official professional softball league in the United States.
The Adelitas are one of four teams in the league this season, joining the Texas Smoke, Coastal Bend Tidal Wave and Texas Monarchs.
Temples played the last three seasons of her collegiate career in Provo, being named to the All-WCC Second Team twice and the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team this past year. Making 39 appearances with three complete games in 2024, Temples went the distance in two of her final four starts, including an upset win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship. She concluded her five-year career with a 3.15 ERA, 577 innings pitched, 558 strikeouts, including 126 looking, with a 49-35 record and three saves.
Hub City kicked off its season over the weekend, going 2-2 in a four-game set against the Tidal Wave. The WPF's 2024 season features an eight-week slate where each team will play a four-game series against another, with the championship series beginning on August 13. The Adelitas will face the Monarch and Smoke three times, and the Tidal Wave twice.
