PROVO, Utah — BYU women's tennis head coach Holly Hasler announced Thursday the signing of Iowa transfer Chelsea Bluestein. Bluestein, a native of Naples, Florida, will join the program this fall.

“We are thrilled to have Chelsea joining our Cougar family,” said Hasler. “She has a big game and brings a wealth of experience having played in the Big Ten.”

Before Iowa, Bluestein was a five-star recruit, the No. 20 overall recruit in the Class of 2023, and was the No. 3 recruit in Florida on tennis recruiting. She held a USTA ranking of No. 7 in Florida and was ranked No. 61 nationally.

Bluestein joins the Cougars after spending the last year with the Hawkeyes. The freshman went 4-5 in singles and was 2-0 in the No. 3 position. In doubles, she went 3-6 and was also named a Dean's List honoree during the spring semester.

Her parents are Jeff and Jennifer Bluestein, and she has a younger sister, Hayden.
