IRVING, Texas — BYU men’s tennis players Zach Fuchs and Redd Owen received Spring Academic All-Big 12 honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Fuchs and Owen each made the Academic All-Big 12 First Team. Athletes must hold a 3.20 GPA and have participated in at least 20-percent of their team's matches to qualify for the first team.
Both Cougars were featured with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors on May 14. Fuchs and Owen mirrored their success in the classroom on the court.
Fuchs was 10-9 in singles play as well as 10-6 in doubles play with partner Wally Thayne. Fuchs did this all while maintaining a 3.6 GPA as an economics major.
Owen recorded the second-highest singles wins on the team in 2024 with a 12-7 record. He also went 11-7 in doubles play with partner Jack Barnett. The duo appeared in all 22 dual matches this season.
