BYU Football: 2024 Photo Day and By The Numbers

Photo Day 2024Photo Day 2024

PROVO, Utah – BYU Football took a day off from the practice field for team photo day on Wednesday afternoon before representing at the annual Cougar Kickoff later in the evening.

As part of the photo event, players and coaches gathered for a team photo, shot by award-winning BYU photographer Jaren Wilkey and his staff, outside on the practice field before going into the Indoor Practice Facility for a series of photos, interviews and other stations in prep for television broadcasts and marketing activities.

Stations included ESPN, FOX and other broadcast partner headshots and action photos, a digital signature capture, bio updates, name pronunciation recordings, BYUtv interviews and media interviews.

Following the team photo, head coach Kalani Sitake spoke with members of the media.

On Team Photo Day
“Another part of camp is doing picture day, doing the team picture and position group pictures. We are excited we are at this point now.”

On practice yesterday
“We went live on a good portion of practice yesterday. Offense had the better day. We were able to do some situational football for the first time in camp. Looking forward to doing a little bit more of that tomorrow. I think in terms of install we are almost there. Now its just play ball and let the guys compete.”

On Gerry Bohanon bringing experience to the QB room
“Experience is one thing, but he is feeling healthy for the first time in a long time. He is throwing the ball way better and with more confidence than he has before. All the quarterbacks can run. That is going to be a good part of our offense, but more importantly they can escape and extend plays. I have seen all four of them do that, he just has the most experience doing that.”

On the timeline for naming a starting QB
“We’ve been through quarterback battles before. We have decided early we have decided late. We are not new to this.”

On the running backs
“Running backs are going to be fine. LJ, Hinckley and Miles are the guys with the most experience. There are younger guys starting to emerge. It is a full room. We have capable guys.”

On Ben Bywater
“He has always been a leader for us. He’s been a captain and a leader for a couple of years. I don’t know if he has a specific job but he is always going to have a place in our program.”
