CINCINNATI, Ohio – BYU men’s golf shot a 3-under 281 in the final round to finish fourth at the Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday.

Sophomore Peter Kim finished the tournament tied for sixth after posting a 2-under 211 total for the 54-hole tournament. He led the Cougars with scores of 69-71-71–211. Kim made eight birdies across the three rounds en route to the third top-10 finish of his career. 

"I had a good feeling leading up to this tournament," Kim said. "We played some qualifying rounds at difficult courses before we left and that really prepared me for this week. As a team, we didn't play how we wanted, but we are looking forward to getting ready for the next event in Arkansas."

Louisville (279-283-284–846) took home the team title after shooting 6-under-par to finish six shots ahead of second-place Cincinnati (283-286-283–852) who finished at even-par. Kansas (283-283-289–855) rounded out the top-3 teams with a score of 3-over-par.

Senior Cole Ponich finished T-24 with scores of 71-75-70–216 after carding four birdies in his final round. Ponich posted a 54-hole total of 3-over par.

Simon Kwon shot 4-over  with scores of 71-75-71—217. He finished tied for 30th. Zac Jones finished T-33 with rounds of 75-74-69–218 for a 5-over total. 

Tyson Shelley completed his rounds with scores of 72-74-76–222. He shot 9-over-par over three rounds to tie for 60th. 

The Cougars will tee it up next at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at Blessings Golf Course, hosted by Arkansas.
