CINCINNATI, Ohio – BYU men’s golf is tied for eighth after the opening 36 holes of the Bearcat Invitational on Monday. The Cougars carded rounds of 283 and 294 to shoot a 9-over 577 at Coldstream Country Club.

The Cougars opened the 2024-25 season with a 1-under 283 in round one and 294 to be tied for eighth going into the final round on Tuesday.

Louisville sits atop the leaderboard with a 6-under 562 after rounds of 279 and 283. 

Sophomore Peter Kim is tied for sixth at 2-under. He opened the tournament with three birdies en route a 2-under 69 in the opening 18 holes followed by a even par 71 which included four birdies.

Senior Cole Ponich (71-75–146) and juniors Tyson Shelley (72-74–146) and Simon Kwon (71-75–146) are tied for 35th at 4-over.

Zac Jones completed Monday’s play tied for 70th going 7-over 149 with scores of 75 and 74.
