IRVING, Texas — The National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame has selected BYU center Connor Pay as a semifinalist for the prestigious 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy.

Celebrating its 35th year, the Campbell Trophy is college football's premier scholar-athlete award, recognizing individuals for their combined success in academics, football performance and exemplary leadership.

Pay, a 6-5, 315-pound senior, from Alpine, Utah, was previously named to the 2024 Athlon Sports All-Big 12 Team and to the East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List, which identifies the nation's top NFL draft eligible players for the season.

In addition, Pay was recently named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist for a third consecutive season and was on the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. As a junior in 2023, Pay was named preseason All-Big 12 by Athlon Sports and Pro Football Focus. Following the 2022 season he was selected to the College Network All-Independent First Team.

In addition to his success on the field, Pay also excels in the classroom with a 3.70 GPA in entrepreneurial management. He was named CSC Academic All-District in both 2023 and 2024 and was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team following the 2023 season.

The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy on Oct. 23, with each finalist receiving an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship while being named to the 2024 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments.

The finalists will travel to the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 10, where one member of the class will be declared as the winner of the 35th Campbell Trophy and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
