No. 6 Cougars host Autumn Classic Friday

PROVO, Utah — No. 6 BYU women’s cross country hosts the Autumn Classic at Lakeside Sports Complex Friday morning. 

Coming off of a Big 12 championship and a 14th place finish at last year's NCAA Championships, the BYU women enter the season ranked No. 6 in the USTFCCCA national preason poll.

The Cougars are led by 2022 cross country All-American Lexy Halladay-Lowry. Halladay-Lowry placed fourth overall at last season's Big 12 championships. She is also a three-time First Team All-American in track and field. 

Jenna Hutchins returns to cross country after finishing sixth at the 2024 NCAA Track & Field Championships in the 10,000m. Riley Chamberlain returns after placing 14th in the 1500m as well as Taylor Lovell placing ninth in the 3000m steeplechase. 

BYU also returns Carmen Alder, Carlee Hansen, Taylor Rohatinsky, Anastaysia Davis and Jacey Harkins-Farmer from last season's Big 12 championship team. They welcome Carmen Riaño Aransay from Miami (Ohio) and eight true freshmen.
