MEET FOE
UNLV men’s swim and dive is coming off a win over Division II Simon Fraser on Oct. 18-19 with a two-day combined score of 287-121. The Rebel women beat Simon Fraser 297-113.
UNLV opened the season with a dual meet at Arizona State on Oct. 4. The No. 6 Sun Devils beat the Rebel men 217-83 while Arizona State’s No. 22-ranked women’s team outscored UNLV 236-64.
The Rebels are reigning WAC Men’s Swim and Dive Champions and finished runner-up at the Mountain West Women’s Swim and Dive Championships in 2024.
LAST TIME OUT
Both BYU men’s and women’s teams beat TCU, 195-177 and 192.5-179.5, respectively, over two days of dual meet matchups in a tri-meet at Texas A&M Oct. 18-19. The No. 15 Aggie men overcame the Cougars 207-164. BYU women’s swim and dive fell to No. 20 Texas A&M 240.5-129.
BYU athletes garnered two Big 12 honors for their performances in College Station with Chase Hindmarsh winning Big 12 Men’s Diver of the Week and freshman Haylee Tiffany taking the league’s Women’s Newcomer of the Week award.
RANKINGS REVIEW
Two meets into the season, BYU men’s swim and dive continues knocking on the door of the CSCAA Top-25 poll. The Cougars received six votes in the latest poll on Oct. 17 and are two spots outside the top-25 with only this week’s opponent, UNLV, ahead of them at 12 votes.
BYU and No. 6 Arizona State are the only Big 12 men’s teams to receive top-25 votes to this point in the season.

BYU men’s and women’s swim and dive holds 13 times and scores ranked in the top-50 nationally, with divers Marti Llop and Alexia Jackson Hansen leading the way.
Llop boasts the nation’s No. 11-ranked 1-meter score of 320.85. The freshman from Barcelona, Spain recorded the mark in his first collegiate meet at the Intermountain Shootout on Oct. 4. Llop leads all Big 12 men’s divers in 1-meter scoring and holds a top-15 spot nationally ahead of divers from No. 18 Minnesota, No. 6 Arizona State and No. 13 Auburn.
Jackson Hansen ranks 12th nationally on 3-meter with an Intermountain Shootout score of 306. The junior from Mesa, Arizona leads divers from Rutgers and No. 23 Minnesota. Among Big 12 women’s divers, only Jackson Hansen and top-ranked Shiyun Lai of Kansas hold top-15 ranked 3-meter scores.
