PROVO, Utah — BYU will host Colorado Christian in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Marriott Center at 7 p.m. MT.

The Young and The Restless
Kevin Young was hired as the 19th head coach in program history on April 16, 2024 after spending the previous four seasons with the Phoenix Suns, including the past three as an associate head coach under Monty Williams and Frank Vogel. In less seven months, the first-year head coach has hired a staff and assembled a Top-15 recruiting class including the first five-star recruit in program history in Egor Demin.
Second Time's the Charm
BYU was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 Men's Basketball Poll, the league announced in early October. The Cougars finished fifth last season, their first in the toughtest men's basketball league in country, with a record of 10-8 including ranked wins over Kansas, Iowa State and Baylor.
Last week, Young along with seniors Trevin Knell and Fousseyni Traore represented BYU at Big 12 Media Days at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. The trio met with local, regional and national media throughout the day, answering questions ranging from expectations to NIL.
Good Things to Come
BYU gave Cougar Nation a glimpse of what is to come this season on Oct. 10 with the annual Blue and White Game.

In the first half, Blue won 49-39 with Keba Keita leading the way with 13 points and six rebounds. Kanon Catchings also reached double figures with 11 points, going 4-of-8 from the field and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. The second half was shortened to 12 minutes where White won 32-20, with Richie Saunders finishing with 12 points, going 5-of-7 from the field, including a make from beyond the arc. Demin added three points, four rebounds and four assists.
Previously against Colorado Christian
The two schools last met at the Marriott Center on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, a 63-45 victory for BYU. The Cougars shot 50.0 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three and 31.6 percent from the charity stripe in a game where they led for more than 24 minutes.
Trey Stewart, Knell and Traore all saw action in the win over CCU, combining for eight points. In 17 minutes of action, Traore finished with three point,s making his only attempt from the field to go along with a team-high six rebounds.
