PROVO, Utah – BYU men's golfer Zac Jones received an unrestricted sponsor exemption to compete in the PGA Black Desert Championship Oct. 10-13.

Jones is joined by BYU men's golf alumni Patrick Fishburn, Zach Blair, Peter Kuest and Mike Weir in the 132 player field. The Black Desert Championship marks the first time in over 60 years that a PGA event has been held in Utah.

“It’s been an awesome week already,” said Jones. “It’s really cool learning from all the guys out here and being right in the middle of it all. It’s special to play with guys like Zac Blair, Patrick Fishburn, Mike Weir and Peter Kuest. I’m most excited to play some good golf when the lights are on, come Thursday. Having a hometown crowd is exciting, too.”

Jones tees off Thursday at 2:20 MDT at Black Desert Golf Course. Follow live scoring on the PGA website.
