PROVO, Utah – Men’s golf head coach Bruce Brockbank has added two-time 5A State Champion Jackson Shelley to the 2025 list of signees.

Shelley will come to Brigham Young University after he graduates from Skyline High School in May. He is the brother of Tyson Shelley, who is a current member of the Cougar squad.

“I’m really excited about the signing of Jackson Shelley,” Director of Golf Todd Miller said. “He will play a big part in the success of our team going forward. Jackson is a strong kid who can make the game look easy. I feel as though we have only seen a small glimpse of what he can accomplish. He has been making a huge commitment to basketball throughout his high school career, so with more time dedicated to golf, I believe he will hit another gear.”

During his career at Skyline, Shelley has been a two-time individual region champion, winning in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, Shelley has been selected as a four-time 5A First Team All-State member.

This October, he won his second-straight individual state title. This individual win was the second of his career; he also won as a sophomore in 2022. Along with his individual accomplishments, he helped lead Skyline to win three team titles in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Shelley has competed in several national tournaments throughout his career. In July, Shelley captured the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Salt Lake Junior tournament, hosted at Glenmoor Golf Club. The high school senior carded rounds of 67-65-68 to finish 16-under-par.

The Salt Lake native is a three-time U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier, qualifying in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Shelley claims an impressive 59 as his lowest round while setting the course record at Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City.

Along with future teammate Kihei Akina, BYU ranks No. 8 in the Golf Channel 2025 signing institution rankings.
