BYU COUGARS  ||  4-0, 0-0 Big 12 Conference

THE MARK OF A UNIFIED TEAM  ||  After the win over Colorado State on Wednesday, senior guard Lauren Davenport said of her performance, “I only had one shot attempt the whole game, but I don’t care, because we won.” The Cougars share the love. In two of their first three games, three or more players have finished in double figures.

CALVERT'S NATURAL HABITAT  ||  With the graduation of Lauren Gustin, Emma Calvert has moved back to playing her natural position as a back-to-the-basket forward. By doing so, she is more active in the pick-and-roll action but continues to stretch the floor with her prowess from downtown.

With her increased roll, Calvert has become the second-leading scorer for BYU at 14 points per game on an efficient 51.2 percent from the floor and 54.5 percent from behind the arc. The senior is also the third-leading rebounder and second in blocks through four games.

DELANEY'S DREAM START  ||  The first four games of Delaney Gibb’s freshman season have been no surprise to Coach Whiting, but her 20.0 points per game on 49 percent shooting and 42.9 percent from behind the arc have earned her national attention as she was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Nov. 11. She averages 4.8 rebounds, 4 assists with a 1.5:1 assist-to-turnover ratio and 1.5 steals so far this season.

REBOUNDING BY COMMITTEE  ||  Last season, Lauren Gustin accounted for nearly 40 percent of all rebounds (504 of 1,294). This season, Whiting leads BYU in rebounding through four games, but only accounts for 18.7 percent of the Cougars' 155 boards. In the win over Idaho State, seven of nine players grabbed at least three rebounds with Whiting (10), Calvert (7), Gibb (6), Hudgins (4) and Hamson (4) with four or more.

WHAT'S ON THE LINE  ||  As the Cowgirls and Cougars each enter the matchup with unblemished records, only one team will remain unbeaten. With a BYU win, the Cougars would move to 5-0 for the second-straight season. BYU started the 2023-24 season 6-0 before dropping game seven to the Wyoming Cowgirls.

MCNEESE COWGIRLS  ||  3-0, 0-0 Big Sky

KAHRIMANOVIC CAN DO IT ALL  ||  Lyla Kahrimanovic is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Cowgirls at 13.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game. The 5-foot-11 freshman guard has shot 54.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the arc through three games. Kahrimanovic also ranks second on the McNeese Squad in assists per game with 3.3 dimes.

THREE-HEADED SCORING MONSTER  ||  Kahrimanovic, Miera Yespes and Azjah Reeves each average over 10 points per game and lead the Cowgirls with a combined 35.7 combined points. The trio shoots a combined 48.3 percent from the floor and 38.1 from downtown.

BENCH-WIDE CONTRIBUTIONS  || For McNeese, 12 of the 13 players who have seen the floor this season average over 10 minutes per game, over four points and at least two rebounds per contest. Nine contribute at least six points per game and seven grab at least 3.7 rebounds.
