LEXINGTON, Ky. — BYU women's volleyball outside hitter Claire Little was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America honorable mention, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.
Little was also named to the AVCA All-West Region First Team and was a unanimous pick on the All-Big 12 First Team after helping the Cougars to their 13th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and a sixth-place finish in the Big 12.
The sophomore from Temecula, California finished in double figures in 24 of BYU's 29 matches this season, recording team-high kills in 21 of them, and posting six double-doubles.
Little hit .275 on the year as she paced the Cougars with 427 kills, averaging 3.88 per set, to rank third in the Big 12 in total kills, kills per set and points per set (4.39).
She also recorded the second-most aces (30), third-most digs (235) and third-most blocks (44) on the team.
This is the 14th-consecutive season that at least one BYU women’s volleyball student-athlete has received an All-America citation. The Cougars have had 39 different athletes earn 113 citations in program history.
