ORLANDO, Fla. — No. 45 BYU women's tennis defeated No. 59 UCF 5-2 for its fifth consecutive victory and first Big 12 conference win as a member. The Cougars improved to 9-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
No. 71 nationally ranked Bobo Huang led the way Thursday, improving to 8-0 in singles this season.
Junior Kendall Kovick won her fifth singles match of the year and improved to 5-4 on the season. Fellow junior Maddy Smith improved to 3-1 on the season with her singles victory over Mihaela Tsoneva.
Senior Emilee Astle improved to 4-1 in singles and clinched the overall match victory for the Cougars with her win over Anique Kattenberg.

After the first two matches were completed, Li and Wheatley took Lincer and Webb to a tiebreak to secure the doubles point for BYU. The Cougars have earned the doubles point in every match this season.
