Sargent, Hutchins and Corrigan post top-10 program times in Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. — Sadie Sargent, Jenna Hutchins and James Corrigan posted top-10 program times for the Cougars at the Payton Jordan Invitational Friday night.

Women's Recap

Sargent improved on her previous personal best in the 5000-meters by over 11 seconds to place fifth in the top-rated section of the event. The senior from Coalville, Utah clocked 15:34.18 to move up from No.7 on BYU's all-time list to No.3.

Hutchins crossed the line within a second of Sargent running 15:34.65 to also improve on her all-time outdoor best and put her name at No.4 on the Cougars' all-time list. The sophomore from Johnson City, placed sixth in the top-rated section. 

Other notable performances on the women's side include personal bests from Jacey Harkins-Farmer in the 5000m running 16:09.11, Taylor Lovell in the 1500m at 4:17.31 and Raygan Peterson in the 3000m steeplechase running 10:20.39.

Men's Recap

Corrigan put his name on the top-10 board running 8:34.70 to claim the No.7 spot. The sophomore from Los Angeles improved on his previous personal best in the event by nearly 12 second to place fourth in the top section. 

"I am really proud of my race," said Corrigan. "I ave been anxious to show what I have been working on in practice and I was able to do that tonight."

Aidan Troutner ran 13:47.98 in the 5000m to place 11th overall in the competition and earn an outdoor personal best in the event.
