PROVO, Utah – College Sports Communicators (CSC) named Emilee Astle, Tina Li, Kaavya Sawhney, and Kara Wheatley to the CSC Academic All-District women's tennis team for their academic and athletic accomplishments this season.
Astle, a team captain this season, recorded a 9-5 record in singles and 10-10 in doubles, and has a 3.78 cumulative GPA. She finished fifth on the team in singles wins, and her 10 doubles victories placed her fifth on the team. Astle studied exercise science with a minor in psychology during her time at BYU, wrapping up her collegiate career with 49 singles wins and 55 doubles victories.
In her second season with BYU, Li posted an 11-8 record in singles and 12-5 in doubles, and has a 3.71 cumulative GPA. She is currently in the pre-business program and tied for second on the team in singles wins, finishing fourth on the team in doubles victories this season.
As a graduate transfer, Sawhney immediately contributed to the program, finishing first on the team with 17 doubles victories and picking up five singles wins this season. Sawhney is currently pursuing an MBA in marketing and holds a 3.54 GPA.
Wheatley went 10-10 in singles this season, 14-5 in doubles, and has a 3.81 cumulative GPA. Her 14 doubles wins ranked third on the team. She graduated with a degree in global supply chain management and concluded her career at BYU with 31 all-time singles wins and 50 doubles victories.
