IRVING, Texas — For the fifth time this season, Delaney Gibb was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

In BYU's one game this week, Gibb scored 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting, going 4-for-7 from behind the arc. The Canadian native also turned in three assists, a steal and a rebound against the Lady Raiders.

Gibb's 22 points led all conference freshmen and ranked fourth in the Big 12 in scoring on the week, trailing only Audi Crooks (Iowa State), Tineya Hilton (Cincinnati), Sedona Prince (TCU) and tying Hailey Van Lith (TCU).

The product of Raymond, Alberta, Canada fueled BYU's second-half comeback effort with 18 of BYU's 40 points, going 6-of-10 from the floor and 4-for-6 from behind the arc in the half.

The freshman contributed four of the Cougars' five triples on the night. Her 4-for-7 clip on triples ranked third in the conference behind grad senior Frida Formann of Colorado and junior Elle Evans of Kansas.

Gibb and the Cougars next travel to take on the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 CT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast on BYU Radio with Jason Shepherd on the call.
