PROVO, Utah — BYU softball utility player Lily Owens came in at No. 74 on the Softball America Preseason Top 100 list, the outlet announced on Monday morning.
Owens, a junior infielder/outfielder, was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region First Team last season after playing in 51 of the Cougars’ 54 games, starting 48 of them.
The Chino Hills, California native recorded the second-most runs scored (39) and RBI (40), and the third-best batting average (.348) on the team in 2024, also hitting the fourth-most home runs (6).
Owens totaled 54 hits, including six doubles and two triples, going 9-for-9 on stolen bases as well. She finished the 2024 campaign with a .529 slugging percentage, .366 on-base percentage and .914 fielding percentage.
