Townsend named to D1 Softball D100 Freshman Watch List

The infielder is the second Cougar to be named to a preseason watch list.

Bre Townsend named to 2025 D1 Softball D100 Freshman Watch List

PROVO, Utah — BYU softball infielder Bre Townsend was named to D1 Softball's D100 Freshman Watch List, the outlet announced on Wednesday morning.

Townsend is a first and third baseman out of Buena Park, California. A Cypress High School graduate, she was a 2023 18U Alliance national champion, two-time Empire League champion (2021, 23), 2023 Empire League MVP, All-Orange County Second Team member and All-Southern Section Team member.

A five-foot-four freshman, Townsend led the Centurions in doubles, home runs and RBI in 2023, hits, doubles and RBI in 2022 and triples in 2021. She was also named the 2023 Alliance Stars of Tomorrow Defensive MVP.

The Cougars kick off their 2025 season with a five-game slate at UC San Diego's La Jolla Invitational, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 6.
