LIHUE, Hawaii – The Cougars (281-279–560) sit in fifth place after 36 holes at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at the Ocean Course at Hokuala on Friday.

Tied for 11th, Peter Kim continues to lead BYU. The Salt Lake City native notched a 2-under 70 today, putting him at 3-under through two rounds. Kim carded two birdies in a row on holes 10 and 11.

No. 16 Utah remains at the top of the ranks after recording an 8-under 272 on the day to add to their 273-272–545 total. Long Beach State sits in second place after recording three eagles in round two. UNLV (280-272–552) is in third place and Santa Clara (283-270–553) holds fourth place.

Zac Jones (69-71–140) stands tied for 24th with his today's round of even-par. Senior Cole Ponich (72-70–142) is tied for 35th. Both Jones and Ponich made two-straight birdies on holes one and two to start their day.

Freshman Kevin Wu (73-70–143) carded five birdies on his front nine in round two. Wu is tied for 44th going into tomorrow’s final round.

Simon Kwon (71-75–146) is tied for 65th and Tyson Shelley, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 84th.
