PROVO, Utah — The No. 6 BYU men's volleyball team will host Barry University in a pair of matches in the Smith Fieldhouse, for the first time in school history, on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22.
COUGARS (10-4)
The Cougars moved back up to No. 6 in Week 5 of the 2025 AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll. Overall, BYU has been ranked in the top-10 since February 6, 2023 for a total of 35 consecutive weeks in a row.
BYU swept CUI in its first conference action of the season last weekend, defeating the Golden Eagles in four and five sets. Miks Ramanis led all players in kills with 32, while Teon Taylor totaled a team-high of seven blocks.
BUCCANEERS (5-8)
Barry is coming off a loss against Weber International, falling in three sets on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Buccaneers are led by freshman outside hitter Colton Beres who has a team-high of 128 kills. Barry is a young program with just one upperclassman (junior), having 17 freshman and one sophomore to round out its roster.
A Catholic institution of higher education, Barry University is located in Miami Springs, Florida and hosts under 7,000 total students.
COUGARS VS BUCCANEERS
The Cougars will face the Buccaneers for the first time in men’s volleyball history. Barry is competing in its first year of indoor men’s volleyball this season, with the school’s announcement taking place in February of 2024.
