PROVO, Utah — Alongside two singles comebacks, the Cougars defeated the Bengals 6-1, increasing their win streak to three.

"I was excited to see the plan execution and the focus from our women today," said assistant coach Anastasia Hayden. "We came out strong in doubles and continue to work hard in singles. Looking forward to an even tougher matchup on Monday!"

The Cougars are now 5-3 this season, with a 2-0 win streak at home.

Doubles Results

Order of finish: 2,1,3

Grace Levelston and Bitsy Tullis shut out their doubles opponents 6-0, followed by a 6-2 victory from Chelsea Bluestein and Kendall Kovick to secure the doubles point for the Cougars. Maddy Smith and Hiba Heni played out their match despite the guaranteed victory and won 6-3.

Kovick took the first singles point with a quick 6-1 6-2 win. Sue Yan Tan played a close match on court four but took both sets 6-4 6-4.

Heni won the first three games in her first set, then lost the next three. After one point in the seventh game, she injured her ankle and was forced to forfeit the match.

Bluestein lost her first set 6-3, then came back to win the next two sets 6-3, 6-0, securing the fourth point for BYU. Smith had a similar 6-4 first-set loss but broke her opponent multiple times in the next two sets, winning them 6-2, 6-3.

Tullis won all six games in her first set, then played a closer second set but ultimately won 6-3.
